Wencinja Alaskan Malamutes is located in the small town of Poulsbo, on the beautiful Kitsap Peninsula which is in the shadow of the Olympic Mountains of Western Washington State, USA.  We have been enjoying life with Malamutes since 1988.  Our passion is showing, but we have also enjoyed backpacking, recreational sledding and rally obedience training.

We are a small kennel with a focus on producing beautiful AKC registered Alaskan Malamutes of exceptional health and wonderful temperaments.  We breed very selectively to accomplish this and all the dogs used in our breeding program are OFA/CERF/Chd certified.  Puppies from our dogs have gone on to become titled in the show and obedience rings, are titled in packing, sledding and weight pulling, and they enjoy carting, skootering, skijouring, hiking, jogging and any other activity their owners include them in!  Of course they also enjoy just being loving members of the family - going along in the car on errands, a walk around the neighborhood or curling up on the couch to watch a good movie...and enjoying some of your popcorn of course!

Currently, we are members of the Alaskan Malamute Club of America (AMCA) and the Olympic Kennel Club, a local all-breed dog club.  We have served in many capacities for these clubs over the years as we believe club membership means participating and contributing to the club you belong to!  Tina has been a past Chair and continues to serve on AMCA's Conformation & Membership Awards Committee and continues to serve as the Specialty Group Coordinator for Olympic Kennel Club.  Brent  is a Board member for Olympic Kennel Club as well as the club's Assistant Show Chair.  Brent is also pursuing his American Kennel Club (AKC) judging license.  A past accomplishment that we are very proud of is the American Kennel Club Public Education Department's Certificate of Appreciation which was awarded to Olympic Ridge Alaskan Malamute Club, a club we co-founded and worked very hard in back in the days when public education on the Alaskan Malamute was so desperately needed.

We are also active in local Malamute Rescue.  So many wonderful Malamutes have not been fortunate enough to have the love and care of a good breeder or owner so we do what we can to help them move on to better lives.  It never ceases to amaze us how forgiving this breed can be to humans after the cruelty some of them have suffered at human hands.  But forgive they do and they go on to give so much joy and love to their new families!  Rescue volunteers are always desperately needed.  Check out your local rescue organization (see our Links page for more information) and see what you can do to help.  We guarantee your heart will be touched by these amazing dogs!

If you are interested in one of our upcoming litters or just want to talk Malamutes, drop us an e-mail or give us a call!  We hope you enjoy your visit and please come again to see what's new!
